The Earth Observation Data Centre GmbH (EODC) is active in the field of earth observation, providing
services to international customers from the private and public sector. As data centre, the EODC operates
a multi-tier and multi-petabyte storage system, connected to various compute environments including
Austria's most powerful super-computer, the Vienna Scientific Cluster 3 (VSC-3). To strengthen our
software services team, we are looking for a
Full Stack Web Developer
full-time, place of employment: Vienna, Austria
You will be responsible for the implementation of the openEO interface on the EODC infrastructure as well
as the UI development of various EODC services.
Your tasks include
● implementation of the openEO API
● design and develop RESTful APIs and other web services on top of the EODC cloud infrastructure
● design and develop the UI for various EODC services
● collaborate with other teams to incorporate best practices and innovations into our services
● follow technology trends and constantly strive to learn new technology stacks
Our tech stack
i.a. Python, Git, Ansible, Flask, RabbitMQ, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, OpenStack, React, Ant Design,
JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Apache Airflow
Your qualifications
● experience with RESTful API design and microservice-oriented architecture
● experience with frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue)
● good understanding of software architecture
● good knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and related application layer commands
● understanding of RDBMS and ORM tools
● comfortable with TDD and clean code best practices
● passion for free and open-source solutions
● fluent written and spoken English
Preferred qualifications
● experience with the above mentioned tech stack
● experience with UI/UX development
● experience with ES6
● experience with geospatial data formats and software libraries (GeoTIFF, NetCDF, GDAL, ...)
● good knowledge of OGC standards and services (WMS, WFS, CSW, ...)
