    About the role

    Embedded in the BGFA Programme and reporting to the Head, Energy Analytics, the Senior Knowledge Systems Expert will focus on software development, data processing and visualisation. S/he shall support the overall design, testing and implementation of systems to collect, process, analyse and contextualise data from multiple sources, thus generating actionable intelligence to inform and influence decision making within and beyond the Programme. S/he will contribute to an accurate, comprehensive and sound

    • strategic development and design of approaches, processes and systems to collect energy related data from multiple sources
    • ongoing development of REEEP’s next generation software system EDISON (Energy Data and Intelligence System for Off-Grid Networks), utilised by internal and external clients for data collection, storage and related processes and related documentation. Account management of external service providers where required. Independent and proactive collaboration with other REEEP Programme and Operations departments, particularly Information Systems and Digital Innovation, to ensure compliance with financial, legal and technical requirements
    • energy data management, processing and storage compliant with legal, notably GDPR and regulatory provisions
    • gap analyses and scenario development for systems and approaches to continuously improve and optimise REEEP’s existing data collections and energy analysis efforts
    • liaising, outreach and support to internal and external partners and stakeholders with focus on intelligence-gathering, need and gap analyses, capacity building and technical assistance on energy data projects, including field visits to BGFA programme areas (notably to sub-Saharan Africa)

    In addition to the above data analytics responsibilities and in close cooperation with the Head, Energy Analytics and the entire REEEP team, s/he will contribute to a high-quality programme implementation within time and budget by

    • reviewing, assessing and refining above deliverables in order to identify best practices and lessons learned and regularly share them with all relevant stakeholders to stimulate continuous improvement at all levels
    • budget monitoring for above activities and pro-active contribution to project progress reporting and documentation in line with donor requirements, as well as organizational reporting (notably Governing Board, Annual Report etc.)
    • coordinating and monitoring of external experts, consultants and contractors to ensure top service delivery, avoiding underperformance, and budget overspending
    • identifying of new funding opportunities and contribution to the development of related projects and proposal writing

    Who we are looking for

    The Senior Knowledge Systems Expert’s set of qualifications and experience shall include

    • At least a first-level degree related to the area of work, i.e. Computer Science, Information Technology or similar; Advanced degree an advantage. Coursework or other exposure to machine learning/AI is considered an advantage
    • At least two to three years of directly relevant professional experience, ideally as a “full stack” software engineer – i.e. having experience in the complete development stack (server/network, data and logic models, API and user interfaces)
    • Demonstrated experience designing, developing and executing for-purpose software systems to collect, cleanse and process larger and varied data quantities for the purpose of near-time analysis and visualisation
    • Demonstrated experience with front-end languages (Java, html) as well as server languages (Python, SQL, PHP, Ruby), expertise in MySQL required, expertise in Angular an advantage
    • Expertise in working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and in developing (REST) APIs and web service tools, as well as working with various types of data and visualisation tools
    • Sound expertise in plotly.js, PrimeNG or Tableau are considered a distinct advantage
    • Understanding of software development for the off-grid energy sectors (e.g. mini grid metering, Pay-As-You-Go platforms, mobile money, etc is a distinct advantage
    • Demonstrated track-record in customizing and operating ERP and CRM Exposure to project cycle management as well as to procurement in an international context
    • Experience working on projects with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa is an advantage
    • Experience in setting priorities, in designing, coordinating and implementing complex activities in a pro-active, responsible, self-organized manner
    • Strong ability to work under time and budget pressure, managing competing deadlines
    • Stakeholder relationship management experience involving a high degree of intercultural sensitivity
    • Willingness and ability to travel
    • Solid command of MS office
    • Excellent written and spoken English (REEEP’s working language), other languages would be an asset

    What we offer

    For this 40h/week full time position, REEEP offers a minimum monthly salary of EUR 3.500,- (gross, paid 14 times per year, subject to Austrian social security deduction, currently free of income tax due to REEEP’s status as “Quasi-International Organisation”). It further includes five weeks paid leave (pro-rated to part-time) as well as an average of 14 Austrian and UN holidays per annum. The envisaged starting date is as soon as possible, ideally in the third calendar quarter 2019.

    About the role

    • A Master’s degree related to the area of work, i.e. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Sciences or similar; Degrees in other fields with relevant professional experience are considered equivalent
    • At least five years of relevant professional experience, particularly in developing and executing big data analytics, particularly in the financial services’ sector
    • Track-record of working with large volumes of data in SQL-databases and performing statistical analyses using R
    • Demonstrated experience with application programming languages, particularly Python
    • Sound expertise in conceptualising and executing complex machine-learning data analyses techniques
    • Experience using geospatial techniques and software programmes is an advantage
    • Exposure to project cycle management as well as to procurement, preferably in an international context
    • Experience working with and in Sub-Saharan Africa, is an advantage
    • Exposure to clean energy technologies and financing models; specifically in the context of off-grid energy solutions in low income countries is an advantage

In addition, the Systems and ICT Team ensures adequate access to equipment for REEEP staff, as well as compliance with data protection.

    About the Role

    As part of REEEP’s Operations team and reporting to the Senior Manager, the position holder will work in close collaboration with all REEEP programmes to develop and customize our Fluxx-based workflow management system Climate Invest. The Project Officer will gain a strong understanding of the programme’s processes and requirements, and will translate them into system functions and features on the platform. Additionally, the Project Officer shall provide general ICT support to REEEP staff as well as institutional infrastructure needs and related data-protection matters. S/he shall ensure efficient, needs-based and solution-oriented preparation, contribution and delivery of activities and outputs, notably

    • In strong cooperation with all REEEP programmes, define, implement and test new features on the Climate Invest platform, and consult REEEP programmes in understanding and improving their information flows, processes and roles
    • Develop data exports through MS Word, MS Excel, and API or other programmes as well visualizations of programme data on a regular as well as on demand basis
    • Perform bug fixing and provide support on system features to REEEP staff and external stakeholders, and relate platform bugs to the software developers
    • In cooperation with the Senior Manager, contribute to the project management, implementation and ctomization projects from start to finish, including the preparation and oversight of work plans, time lines, resource allocation and concurrent priorities
    • Administer the Climate Invest system backend and stay up-to-date on system changes, understanding on how they will affect our users and their day-to-day work
    • Provide other ICT related support to REEEP staff and work with the Senior manager on the administration of REEEPs digital infrastructure (i.e. servers, Azure and AWS, etc.)
    • Support recent and future institutional infrastructure projects for REEEP and consult on related technical data-protection matters
    • Other related duties as assigned by the COO, in accordance with the Senior Manager

    About the Profile

    The Project Officer, Systems’ set of qualifications and experience shall include:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Information Systems/”Wirtschaftsinformatik”, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
    • At least two years relevant work experience, preferably in an international environment
    • Experience in customizing web based software platforms using a mix of HTML/CSS, JavaScript, or other scripting, markup and programming languages; knowledge of Shopify’s liquid template language and knowledge of API programing are strong assets
    • Exposure to or knowledge of software development processes is an asset, as is experience as project manager and/or project management certifications
    • Admin-level knowledge of Microsoft products, including Office Suite, Office 365, Azure and Windows 10; knowledge of other computer and phone OSs and Amazon Web Service administration is an asset

    About the role

    As part of REEEP’s Operations team, the intern will work in close collaboration with the ICT Administrator in streamlining ICT infrastructure management and user support. This includes the definition and set up of an ITAM process and system as well as the provision of system administration, first level support and additional guidance on IT usage to all staff.

    Who we are looking for

    We are looking for a person with the following qualifications and experience:

    • Studying for a Bachelor’s (final year preferred) or Master’s degree in: Information Technology, IT Infrastructure Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
    • Solid command on an administrative level of Microsoft products, including Office Suite, Office 365 and Windows 10; knowledge of other computer and phone OSs is an asset
    • Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) concepts like ITIL and IT Asset Management (ITAM)
    • Work experience with MS Azure (AzureAD in specific) and MDM solutions is an asset
    • Pro-active, service-oriented team player and problem solver

    ich bin grad auf der Suche nach einer Alternative zu iPhoto - das ist zwar nett, aber nachdem ich die ganzen Fotos nicht nochmal extra in einer (für mich unverständlichen) library kopiert haben will, und ich massig photos zum aussortieren habe (ich hab sie natürlich auch doppelt und dreifach durch backups und backups von den backups und und und)..
