    [Background]
Production process in the era of Industry 4.0 needs flexible configurations, customizable features, and short time to market. The dominant software development practices in the past, such as fine planning and scheduled release, can no longer fulfill the requirements of industrial software development. As a developer, you will work in the scope of a Siemens internal research project focusing on introducing Microservice architecture and DevOps practices to mission-critical industrial software, e.g., infrastructure monitoring and factory automation.

    [Your tasks]
    - Develop software prototype
    - Support researchers in writing scientific publications and intellectual properties
    - Work with Siemens business units to address real world challenges in large-scale software development and delivery

    [Expected skills]
    - Programming experience in Python
    - Familiar with Linux environments
    - Experience with web frontend technologies would be plus
    - Experience with Docker, Amazon Web Services, Jenkins and container orchestration technologies such as kubernetes would be a plus
    - Most importantly, you should be able to learn new technologies quickly. Please note that this job is at a research department in Siemens. There is unlikely to be any detailed design handed to you. You should be able to solve problem independently and demonstrate your solution.

    [Other conditions]
    - Part-time is possible
    - This is an on-site position regardless if it's part-time or full-time. Please do not apply if you are not in Vienna.
    - Appropriate work permit is required.
