[FONT=&quot]Seeking intern specializing in databases[/FONT][FONT=&quot]
Seeking Intern specializing in databases to start as soon as possible in IBM Software Group in the New York area for about a year.
The internship suitable for Master's level students. The work is in a distributed global team that provides support for customers working with databases and in particular those who store, index and query XML. The work will include prototyping, testing, supporting and creating demos, and assisting in the writing of queries. Opportunities are available to present at pureXML bootcamps and to help with creation of bootcamp materials. Opportunities to collaborate with other teams, explore new areas and write articles are also available.
Desired skills: Some of the following -
SQL. XML, Java, any other programming languages, Web 2.0, Web services, some understanding of database architecture (e.g., Indexing, Query Plans, Buffer Pool, Utilities).
Quick to learn and thorough - Proactive, dedicated, collaborative and responsive - Good presentation and / or writing skills
